The throne is made of wood and lined with gold plates on which a scene from the life of the young couple is engraved with faience, enamel, glass and precious stones. Above them the god Aton ascended in the form of a life-giving solar disk, the rays of which culminate in the image of palms. The legs of the throne below are made in the form of lions' paws, and the handles are decorated with lion heads as a symbol of courage, power and authority.
